I'm sure the T-shirt worn in this photo by Megan Hott, winner of a high-school Voice of Democracy contest in Keyser, W.Va., speaks for millions.

This is a blog by Andy Duncan, a fiction writer, teacher and journalist, mostly in that order.

We had a Candy Cox in my high school. Walked around with a little red rave lollipop and everything. Big blonde Duran Duran hair, too--it was the eighties.
And no one "reading" that t-shirt is actually thinking about blogs...

As Andy's wife, I suggest he formally distance himself from this discussion....

As Sydney suggests, I would like to formally distance myself from much of this discussion. I must, however, point out to Trent additional evidence that there is, indeed, a Megan Hott at Keyser High School: this 2006 honor roll list. And as for Candy Cox, well, one of my past newspaper co-workers was named Candy Barr.
And in my high school, there was a girl named Candy Faust, which adds a whole new Mephistophelean flavor to it.
